  • Must be resident in parish or on the electoral roll and invited by incumbent

  • Look out for training and resourcing events in the Diocese

  • Attend the annual churchwarden visitation service at various locations

  • Ordained Clergy

  • Speak with your parish priest and you may be referred to the Diocesan Director of Ordinands (DDO)

  • Attend Bishop’s Advisory panel (BAP) – this process could take 12-18 monthst

  • Training at Theological College – typically 3 years

  • Parish Safeguarding Officer

  • Nomination by PCC, become a member of the PCC and obtain DBS check then register with the Diocese in order for the role to be stored on the database

  • Complete levels C1 and C2 safeguarding training – 3 hours per level with refresher every 3 years

  • Get up-to-date with safer recruiting processes
